We are delighted to invite applications for the position of Virtual and Immersive Production Research Fellow to be based in the flourishing Department of Cultural, Media and Visual Studies in the School of Cultures, Languages and Area Studies at the University of Nottingham.

The purpose of this role is to support the work of the Virtual and Immersive Production Studio (VIP Studio), a specialist production facility to incubate innovation in film, TV and performance arts production and audience engagement. You will have responsibility for supporting inclusive community outreach programmes that facilitate skills and talent development - contributing to the growth of the creative and digital talent and business cluster in Nottingham and addressing a national need for new skills in screen industries. Duties will include providing technical and creative guidance about using the studio’s hardware and software capabilities; writing for publication in industry-facing and academic publications; and liaison with project partners. You will have a PhD or equivalent in a relevant subject area and will have experience of performance-led research in immersive and interactive digital media; be knowledgeable about virtual production technologies and techniques; and have experience of interdisciplinary collaboration and academic publication. There will be the opportunity to develop your own research portfolio.

You will receive mentoring in the development of your research career. You can expect support with research skills, research management skills, as well as with producing high-quality publication. You will gain experience of working with the cross-faculty studio team and with fostering relationships with external partners in the production of knowledge-exchange, engagement, and impact.

You will join a thoroughly interdisciplinary community of scholars with global perspectives and approaches and contribute to a vibrant and collegial research-led learning environment.
