To coordinate and deliver events that appeal to our student groups who are less engaged. To ensure our events pages on our website and our social media outlets are kept up to date and are relevant. About You

We are looking for a highly driven, organised and operationally excellent licensed trade and events manager to be a key part of our Venues & Events Team at QMSU. The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate an ability to operationally support 2 of our sites, Drapers Bar & Kitchen and Griff Bat & Kitchen operations as this is integral to the role, with some licensed trade events for events at other sites including Chislehurst and Charterhouse Square.

As a multi-site operator with 50 student staff, the Venues & Events Assistant Manager should have excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to build, engage and manage relationships with a wide variety of people. They should have a keen eye for detail and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Applicants would need to be able to be operationally focused and willing to work a mixture of days and nights, including some weekends, as and when necessary.

About the Department

Queen Mary Students’ Union (QMSU) is a membership organisation that is the voice of all Queen Mary students. QMSU also provide a number of commercial services including a gym, events, shops, licensed venues & hospitality. This role will be responsible for developing and coordinating events across all 3 campuses, Mile End, Whitechapel & Charterhouse.

QMSU Services Limited is the wholly-owned subsidiary of the charity (QMSU – the Students’ Union). Carrying on the business as a commercial social purpose company, the services are provided principally for students, staff, and guests of the University.
