Your personal sphere of play:

A post-doc position is vacant at the Department of Developmental and Educational Psychology at the Faculty of Psychology (40 hours/week, for 2 years and 10 months with the option of extension for another 4 years). The position is assigned to the area of Educational Psychology and Societal Changes (Chair Prof. Dr. Thomas Götz). We are searching for a new staff member with a Magister/ Master in Psychology, a PhD or doctoral degree in psychology and interest and probably experience in the area of empirical educational research with a focus on emotion or motivation research. The preparation of a cumulative habilitation is encouraged. Applicants should demonstrate an ability to work in a team and high social competence. They will get the chance to work within a highly motivated, committed and internationally oriented team of researchers. Further, a software engineer affiliated to the research team and experimental labs are available for preparing and conducting research projects. Tasks encompass scientific research, holding classes due to extent regulations of wage agreement in the field of empirical educational research and emotion research, supervision of students and administrative collaboration.

Your future tasks:

Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means:

  • You build up an independent research profile in the area of empirical educational research with a focus on emotion or motivation research.
  • You are involved in research projects and scientific studies.
  • You publish internationally and give lectures.
  • You apply for projects and raise third-party funds.
  • You prepare and complete a publication-ready habilitation.
  • You hold courses independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
  • You supervise your students.
  • You participate in evaluation measures and in quality assurance.
  • You take on administrative tasks in research, teaching and administration.

This is part of your personality:

  • Completed doctoral/PhD studies in subject of Psychology
  • Research competence and initiative proven through international publications in peer-relevant media
  • Experience in research management 
  • High quality in teaching as well as experience with e-learning
  • IT skills (e.g., SPSS)
  • Excellent knowledge of English (C1)

Fixed-term contract and fair salary: The basic salary of EUR 4,351.90 (14 times a year) for a period of 2 years / 10 months increases if we can credit professional experience.
