Your personal sphere of play:

Your future position will be at the Department of East Asian Studies, in the field of East Asian Economy and Society (EcoS), and with the European Centre for North Korean Studies (ECNK).

Your future tasks:

You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, including:

  • Conduct independent and high-quality research on East Asian Economy and Society, with a focus on North Korea.
  • Hold courses independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Supervise EcoS MA students.
  • Take on advanced administrative tasks in connection with the EcoS program.
  • Prepare to move on to the next, professorial level in your academic career.
  • Actively contribute to the EcoS MA program, and the activities of the European Centre for North Korean Studies (ECNK).

This is part of your personality:

  • Doctoral/PhD degree in the Social Sciences
  • Background in Political Science
  • Research focus on North Korea
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English (C1 Level)
  • Excellent command of Korean and a proven ability to conduct research in that language
  • Command of German is an advantage, but not a must
