This is an opportunity to join a friendly team and carry out a range of roles which will add to your CV.

The purpose of this post is to assist in the delivery of the Aimhigher Plus project which is part of the national Uni Connect programme.

The programme aims to:

  • Raise aspirations regarding Higher Education
  • Provide information and advice to ensure that learners can make informed decisions regarding their future choices, and to know how they can access Higher Education if appropriate.
  • Deliver activities for young people (Years 7 to 13) living in wards with low rates of progression in to Higher Education.

This team makes up the ‘rural strand’ of the Uni Connect programme, covering Herefordshire, Worcestershire and South Shropshire.

The role holder will be required to support the existing team by attending inbound and outbound events, completing office admin and supporting with digital content for the social media used by the project.

You will be required to represent the Uni Connect Programme at a variety of inbound and outbound events such as, talks and workshops, fairs, summer schools as well as a host of others. These will be delivered either virtually live or in person face-to-face. When delivering sessions you will engage with prospective students and parents/carers from a variety of backgrounds, you will be expected to share your positive experiences in HE to inform students about their options. Many of these events involve working outside of core office hours unsupervised, so the ability to work independently and flexibly is paramount.

You will also be required to support basic admin and database tasks, including: liaising with schools and colleges, data entry of evaluation forms; uploading registers and consent data to our database and filling out paperwork to support the project

You will need to have excellent presentational skills, be creative, and be passionate about supporting young people to make informed choices about their future in higher education. You will need to draw on your own experiences at school, college and university to be relatable to the young people of these three counties. You will also need to work independently as well as part of this dynamic project team.

Please email Olivia Hill [email protected] if you have any questions about the role.

We value diversity and wish to promote equality at all levels
