The Faculty of Classics is seeking to appoint a part time Temporary Language Teacher from 01 October 2021 (or as soon as possible thereafter) till 30 September 2022 (0.6 FTE). The post is open to those at an early stage in their career, providing an opportunity to develop skills in teaching Ancient Greek and Latin texts and language. The successful applicant will benefit from the world-class facilities offered by the University and generous support for research and teaching. Further information about the Faculty is available at

The successful applicant will be expected to take a full part in the Pre-term IG language teaching and as marker and/or assessor of language papers across the Tripos. Opportunities will be given for the successful applicant to give a small number of lectures, for which training will be provided.
We are seeking an individual who has recently completed a doctorate, who has a strong teaching record as a graduate student and potential to make a significant contribution to the Faculty. Candidates will need to show evidence of the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- Evidence of ability to teach Greek and Latin language effectively, and at all relevant levels;
- Evidence of ability to teach Greek and Latin texts from a variety of genres
- Ability to play an effective role in the life and work of the Faculty as a whole;
- Ability to work as part of a team.
The funds for this post are available until 30 September 2022 in the first instance.
