About the role

Our UK Student Recruitment Officers are based within the Future Students Office and lead on the recruitment of UK students nationwide. The role encompasses home student recruitment and outreach, alongside developing, managing and implementing strategies to realise our commitment to widening participation in higher education alongside a varied workload on UK Student Recruitment Projects. 


You’ll have the chance to showcase our university nationwide and on campus. From large scale exhibitions to visiting schools delivering inspiring talks and workshops, you'll proudly represent the university, spreading the word about what makes the University of Leicester unique. Your role will also include setting and exceeding recruitment targets, all while aligning with our institutional objectives and Access and Participation Targets.

About you
In this position, you'll need to be a great communicator, adept at building relationships and delivering information effectively and in an engaging manner. Coupled with a relevant degree, you should have prior experience in 13-19 education, further education, or higher education environments.
Excelling in this role requires more than just conventional skills – you'll need to demonstrate innovative thinking, proposing creative solutions, analysing data, and crafting comprehensive reports, correspondence, and other documents.

We anticipate that interviews will take place on 18 April 2024. 

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 because the appointee will have substantial access to young people and/or vulnerable adults. Therefore, an appointment to this post will be subject to checking and appropriate clearance through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The successful applicant for this post will, therefore, be required to give consent for the University to check with the DBS for the existence and content of any criminal record in the form of an Enhanced Disclosure. Information received from the DBS and the police will be kept in strict confidence and will be destroyed once the University is satisfied in this regard.


Due to the remit of the role and make-up of our current team, candidates are required to be based in, or within commutable distance from our main campus in Leicester.
