Applications are invited for a Temporary post of a Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 within UCD School Medicine CEPHR (formerly the HIV Molecular Research Group, HMRG) is Ireland's leading research group in HIV and one of the few academic research centres in Europe that integrates host and pathogen research comprising clinical, translational, statistical and biomedical researchers.

CEPHR is internationally recognized for its translational research being involved in both investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored studies, including into COVID-19, in collaboration with the Infectious Diseases service at St Vincent's University Hospital and the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital in Dublin). The vision of VACCELERATE is to be the pan-European structure accelerating COVID-19 vaccine development. VACCELERATE is keen to develop and conduct phase 2 & 3 vaccine trials of its own initiative, to timely launch small-scale trials of specific public health interest. VACCELERATE will perform three COVID-19 phase 2 trials to investigate the impact of different COVID-19 vaccines on immunogenicity as third dose strategies, as well as on immunogenicity in the paediatric and adolescent population.

The network will follow a collaborative approach with 26 participating institutions from 21 EU countries and EU associated countries. This is a research focused role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training and development under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator.

The primary purpose of the role is to further develop your research skills and competences, including the processes of publication in peer-reviewed academic publications, the development of funding proposals, the mentorship of graduate students along with the opportunity to develop your skills in research led teaching.

The role involves integration of laboratory results with established bioinformatic pipelines for analysis and report with the other members of the scientific community. As also designing and describing new analytic methods to be adopted by the rest of participating laboratories in the project.

Salary:€38,631-€39,186per annum

Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
