Tutor in Mandarin

The School is seeking to appoint a tutor in Mandarin. The role will involve the preparation and delivery of whole or parts of teaching schemes including contributing to the assessment of students (in person or on-line streaming). Delivering lessons as required (content supplied) in Primary and Secondary schools in the Cardiff area.  The post holder will undertake workshops, tutorials and group work where appropriate. and will supervise student projects and carry out teaching-related administrative duties.  Teaching contributions are within a framework of an agreed programme typically overseen by the Academic Director.

The post is available from 1 September 2021 until 31 July 2022 on a variable hours basis, to support Mandarin teaching in schools for the Cardiff Confucius Institute.

Salary: £27,511  - £31,866 per annum (Grade 5).

Essential Criteria

1.Good first degree and a teaching qualification or equivalent teaching experience in Mandarin.
2.Proven teaching ability, ideally via a teaching qualification.
3.Effective interpersonal skills to liaise with students and staff
4.Excellent communication skills in both English and Mandarin.
5.Ability to work flexibly
6.A DBS check will be required to undertake this role

Desirable Criteria

1. UK driving licence
