Transport Development Manager

Campus Division (Sustainability) is looking to recruit two Transport Development Managers to lead the planning, development and delivery of transport facilities and services across the University of Bristol for existing and new campuses.

We have two full time positions available, both with fixed funding - one until July 2026 and one until July 2027.

You will provide specialist/professional transport planning advice and recommendations to all campus development projects, ensuring delivery of transport facilities and services to meet planning requirements and support the university’s world-class campus ambition.

This will include working on a combination of timebound projects (which may or may not be led by the post holder) including the new Temple Quarter campus development and other large scale capital projects.

Additional work activities include the development, delivery and management of site-specific campus Travel Plans, including appropriate stakeholder engagement throughout; producing business cases for investment and supporting the procurement of new transport facilities and services, for example a new inter-campus shuttle bus; ensuring standards are upheld across the estate through the review and development of transport generic project requirements and the improvements to facilities such as cycle parking; concluding the University’s Cleaner Fleet Programme, including the EV charging infrastructure strategy; and collaborating with external stakeholders to ensure Campus Division is achieving the best outcomes for the University from local authority transport schemes. 

As we have two positions open, the work programme will be allocated as appropriate on appointment.
