The team

The Timetabling Team, based within the Directorate of Estate Management and Development, is responsible for the delivery of annual, personal timetables for staff and students, at both our York and London campuses. The Team are also responsible for upholding the Timetabling Policy, reporting key management data and delivering a room-booking service for staff and students.

 The role

The Timetabling Team are now seeking a dynamic individual, with a can-do attitude, to join us as a Timetabling Officer. This full-time role is pivotal in collaborating with colleagues within the Team and from various departments, to ensure the delivery of exceptional timetabling services to both staff and students.

Reporting to the Timetabling Manager, you will be responsible for your own areas, whilst covering for other members of the Team in their absence. The post holder will actively participate in the process of reflection and continuous improvement to enhance processes and services.

The successful candidate will be joining the University at an exciting time, as we implement service developments to further improve the student experience.

 Key skills and experience

The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience in timetabling within a higher education institutions. They will have effective communication and interpersonal skills with a strong emphasis on teamwork. The post holder will manage and organise their workload efficiently, meeting critical deadlines and collaborating closely with colleagues across the University. The Timetabling Officer will be flexible and adapt to changing work environments and workload peaks. They will also have experience of maintaining high standards of data quality and accuracy, utlising strong IT skills. The successful candidate will demonstrate problem-solving skills and effective communication to provide excellent service to all stakeholders.
