We are offering a challenging and rewarding position as Timetabling and Modelling Manager to lead the team delivering the timetable and room bookings service. The role comprises the management of the annual timetable production cycle and the room booking service as well as the ongoing development of data modelling methods to enable us to better understand our use of the campus facilities and to inform curriculum and estate planning to ensure that we can effectively support the delivery of the university curriculum in the best pedagogical way.

You will be joining the team at a critical time as we complete the production of our first whole year timetable and transition to a new student records system, Ellucian Banner. The University timetabling software is CMIS. You will be working on the timetabling aspects of planning the introduction of a new academic framework over the next three years and the introduction of new University buildings and spaces as the estate is developed.

You must have exceptional negotiation and team leadership skills as well as outstanding technical and analytical abilities and an excellent strategic understanding of the wider University environment. You need to be committed to providing an excellent staff and student experience and to supporting your team in their work.

As Timetabling and Modelling Manager you should have:

  • An undergraduate degree or relevant work-experience
  • Experience of management and administration within a further education/higher education establishment
  • Design, implementation and management of specific processes
  • Excellent IT skills, including experience of working with large computerised administrative systems and using word processing, spreadsheet and database packages.
  • Supervision/line management of staff. Ability to supervise and motivate staff, including the ability to set deadlines, lead and motivate a team.
