We believe that the arts are an extraordinary source of wisdom, support, connection, understanding, joy, and inspiration for each and every one of us.
In 2021 we want to convey a different message. Whilst we sit at the heart of a university campus, we are very much part of our local community, and we want to reflect that community in all that we do. In an increasingly fragmented world, we believe the arts are one of the few places where we can all meet – a place to share our experiences, a place to find common ground and understanding, a place to connect, to transform and explore new possibilities together.
We know that, however wide we open our doors, some people still feel there are barriers in the way. We know that sometimes the language of the arts and art centres can end up making culture seem far off and alien.
You will play a key role in our Technical team by providing audio, lighting, and stage management for all Warwick Arts Centre events, assisting with the timely maintenance of all equipment and to assist with the inspection of all installations, ensuring compliance with current legislation and licensing requirements.
We are looking for someone who can maintain a calm and professional approach in a pressurised and busy theatre environment, and who has previously worked in technical theatre and who has strong experience of rigging, installing, and operating lighting systems. Strong AV experience is essential.
Over the past 2 years, we have worked to restate our vision and values, so this is an exciting time to join our team. 2021 sees Warwick Arts Centre re-opening a new building. But it’s not just our physical building that will look different, it’s what we say and do.
Hours of work are varied and include evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays. This post includes a 5% availability allowance plus overtime.
Full details of the duties and selection criteria for this role can be found in the vacancy advert on the University of Warwick’s jobs pages. You will be routed to this when you click on the Apply button.
