About the Role

The Language Centre, within the School of Languages, Linguistics and Film is looking to appoint experienced EAP Teaching Fellows to teach on the Pre-Sessional Programme over the summer for the following course(s), depending on student numbers and business needs:

Pre-Sessional Course B , Tuesday 11 July – 13 September 2023 (9 weeks, covers teaching for courses B and C including 4 days of induction). The post-holder will be required to undertake 18 contact hours per week. The salary will be around £7,997 (equivalent to £41,386 per annum, pro rata) and is inclusive of holiday pay, preparation time, induction, admin/office hours and marking. The contracts are hourly paid.

Pre-Sessional Course C , Tuesday 8 August – 13 September 2023 (5 weeks- including 4 days of induction). The post-holder will be required to undertake 18 contact hours per week. The salary will be around £4,747 (equivalent to £41,386 per annum, pro rata) and is inclusive of holiday pay, preparation time, induction, admin/office hours and marking. The contracts are hourly paid.

Each course and pay includes a mandatory induction over four days (18 hours) from Tuesday to Friday (inclusive).

About You

You will have a relevant postgraduate degree and/or relevant professional qualification (e.g. DELTA) and/or equivalent professional experience as well as prior experience of teaching Pre-Sessional or EAP courses in a Higher Education context. As a skilled communicator you will have the ability to present material in a logical, coherent and interesting manner, together with good IT and organisational skills.

There may be the possibility of further work at the end of the initial contract period.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK.
