This full time post in the Temporary Resourcing Unit is available immediately on a fixed term until 1 February 2023. This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.

Summary of the role

The Temporary Resourcing Unit (TRU) form part of the Permanent Recruitment and Temporary Resourcing Team and are responsible for overseeing the Casual Claims and Temporary Staff Bank processes, engaging workers in temporary assignments across our campuses.

This role will be solely responsible for all claims payroll duties including, but not limited to:

  • Prepping and running the payroll for all casual and temporary workers
  • P60 requests
  • Queries regarding over or underpayments
  • Calculating Statutory Sick Pay and Statutory Maternity Pay
  • Administration and processing of Advance and CHAPS payments
  • Monitoring the shared eClaims/ Payroll mailboxes
  • Recording leaver information on the payroll system
  • Identifying system errors relating to failed/late payments
  • Processing cheque payments
  • Sending P45s

In addition to these tasks the post holder will be responsible for assisting in the administration of other Casual Claims and TSB duties according to the needs of the Unit, and in response to our customers.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who has demonstrable administrative skills, experience of working in a payroll position would be beneficial but it is not essential. Applicants should have excellent communication skills and be capable of working independently to changeable deadlines. They will be required to prioritise their workload effectively, and should have excellent IT skills. The role holder will be required to gain technical knowledge of the University’s in house systems.
