About the role
To provide specialist technical expertise to support the development of a translational cancer research program focused on therapy resistance and lineage plasticity in prostate cancer.
Coordinate and carry out complex experimental studies using mouse models of cancer, under the direction of PI and research staff.
To have operational oversight and day to day organisation of the laboratory.
About the Person
The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following essential criteria:
- ONC/OND or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Biological Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, or related subject.
- Personal Licence under the UK Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 (ASPA), or willingness and eligibility to obtain one immediately upon appointment*. *A Personal Licence is required to fulfil the requirements of the job therefore it will be essential to obtain this to pass the probationary period for the post.
- At least three years relevant laboratory experience to include significant experience of:
- Working with mouse models in academic or industry research settings.
- Experience working within regulated animal research environments.
- In vivo cancer biology studies
- Experience with a range of molecular techniques, such as PCR, qPCR, IHC/ IF, WB, IP etc.

Fixed-term contract (available for 36 months or until 31 August 2029 whichever is soonest). Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
