Due to the growth and popularity of our life sciences programmes, we are looking to recruit an experienced laboratory technician with microbiology skills to help deliver technical support within the Faculty.

You will enjoy working in a friendly skilled technical team contributing to the delivery of technical support within the laboratory environment. 

Ideally you will have technical expertise in microbiology, medical microbiology or life sciences gained in a technical role in higher education or industry and be able to quickly and efficiently carry out aseptic work, prepare solutions and reagents, and maintain laboratory equipment, working safely with good laboratory practice. 

The technical team works closely with the academic team and provides exceptional technical support for practical teaching and outreach activities. Our technicians are highly valued and recognised for their work and contribution to the institution.  Continuing professional development is expected and integrated into the role.  

The post requires a strong understanding of laboratory health & safety, excellent communication skills and a positive attitude. Applications are welcome from any candidates who can demonstrate relevant practical expertise and experience.
