The University of Chichester began delivering degrees in Engineering disciplines in 2018 out of the £30 Million state-of-the-art tech park building on the Bognor Regis Campus. We are currently expanding our engineering provision and recruiting a diverse team of creative and innovative people to further grow and enhance our Engineering degrees. With excellent teaching laboratories containing new equipment, students put their learning immediately into practice developing the broad range of technical, communication and practical skills and knowledge that is essential of the professional engineering graduate.
We are now seeking to recruit a part-time Technician in Engineering & Design to join the team at this exciting time. The post holder will work closely with the Head Technician and Academic staff in supporting the delivery of engineering degrees and will help setup, maintain and monitor equipment within the laboratories and workshops that provide the practice-based components of our engineering degrees.
Applicants should have previous experience in supporting engineering or scientific laboratories or manufacturing equipment or workshop spaces and would be expected to take on student facing activities as part of the role.
A good working knowledge of Health and Safety within engineering applications is essential, and you must have demonstrable communication and interpersonal skills that enable you to work effectively and build successful relationships at all levels.
