We are seeking a Research Technician to join a multi-disciplinary project collaborating with industrial partners to explore the development of antimicrobial materials and their efficacy in biological systems. 

The role holder will be involved in the data collection on studying novel materials and their interactions with bacteria and mammalian cells.. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary research team at the School of Pharmacy lead by Dr Felicity de Cogan.

A degree in microbiology, biology, biochemistry, materials science or associated subject. in a discipline relevant to the project such as biochemistry, chemistry, biomaterials is desirable. Past experience of working with industrial partners in an academic setting is also highly desired. Experience of working with bacterial and mammalian cell culture, is also essential. The candidate will be required to undertake research and day-to-day management of this research project, requiring a high degree of time management and organisational skills, competence and precision in results generation and data analysis. An aptitude for critical thinking, accurate record keeping and a flexible approach to collaborative research is vital.

This full-time post (36.25 hours per week) will be offered on a fixed-term contract for 7 months. Job share arrangements may be considered.
