The Technical Specialist role is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an exciting and innovative team. The Virtual Engineering Centre consists of a high impact multi-disciplinary group of experts, including specialists in computer science, data science, engineering, visualisation and manufacturing technologies, and is underpinned by the University of Liverpool and specialist centres of excellence.

With specialist facilities at the Virtual Engineering Centre (VEC) in Daresbury and the Digital Innovation Facility (DIF) in Liverpool, our talented team help accelerate business growth through digital technology, with the ability to translate client¿s challenges (whether academic or industrial) into practical workable solutions, at both scale and pace.

You will focus on supporting SMEs and businesses from a variety of sectors with digital tool and integration challenges, delivering key funded projects including UKSPF Horizons. Using skills related to software engineering, systems engineering, mechanical engineering and computer science, you will be involved in a range of activities from digitisation of systems, digital twins, IoT integration, condition monitoring, data mapping, simulation and microcontrollers.

The role requires good interpersonal and communication skills, bringing energy, enthusiasm and a constant focus on excellence to our work, supporting and motivating colleagues and clientele to enhance their knowledge, skills and practice.
