The Opportunity:
We are looking for a Cell Culture (technical) specialist to join our Cancer, Ageing and Somatic Mutation programme to help focus on understanding how kidney tumours initiate, evolve and evade treatment.
About the Role:
You will provide support to help deliver projects focused on the generation of primary cell cultures of a number of cell types in freshly sampled tumours. This role will encompass:
- Tissue culture, DNA extraction and staining procedures
- Sample management
- Writing new SOPs and adhering to SOPs already in place
- Train new starters in lab procedures and cell culture
About you:
You will have experience of working in a lab, in particular experience with mammalian cell cultures, flow cytometry. You will also have excellent organisational skills with the ability to keep detailed records of work and new protocols that have been introduced to be shared with the wider team to keep the project running timelines and specifications.
