About the team

We are a core team within Cellular Operations, responsible for providing cell biology resource and expertise to the wider institute. We do this by running multiple, diverse, large scale cellular generation projects for various faculty teams. Our current portfolio of projects includes organoid derivation from human tissue and differentiation of iPSC cells to new cell types to create a range of new disease models.

In order to deliver cell biology at scale, we maintain a focus on continuous process improvement. Ensuring that at all times we are striving to deliver value to the institute by exploring ways of improving quality and efficiency. We operate by taking protocols established in the faculty teams, transitioning them into our world, ensuring they are robust enough to run at scale and striving to identify new technologies and methods.

As signatories of the Technician Commitment, we value the personal growth and recognition of our dedicated staff. As part of this role, you will be actively encouraged to take part in learning and development opportunities, public engagement and department-wide initiatives. We have a number of working groups that you may join, such as the communication group, which aims to effectively promote our work across the Institute and externally. In addition, we are driven by a culture of inclusion, which means you will be fully supported to engage with the various staff networks or take part in any Institute-wide initiative.
