This new part-time (0.8 FTE) post is immediately available on a permanent basis.

Summary of the role

This post will work alongside other ATSMs in order to complete tasks aligned to this role. This could be a secondment opportunity for internal applicants.

We need a team of talented individuals to support our teaching and research, and in training the next generation of top health care professionals. The primary function of this role is to provide technical support for the teaching activities of the Faculty of Health and Life within the Exeter Clinical Skills Resource Centre (ECSRC) and simulated nursing ward at the Heavitree hospital site.

You will work closely with teaching staff and the Clinical Skills Technical Manager to help to deliver hands-on support for the practical skills-based learning. You will also work with other members of Technical Services in managing stock and delivering a safe and efficient working environment for teaching of undergraduate students. This will include the provision of guidance and supervision to more junior members of staff and training or induction to new starters.

We are looking for an individual with exceptional communication and time management skills, who will provide professional technical support to all users of ECSRC. You must be able to work independently, as well as within a team and have the initiative to troubleshoot practical set ups according to teaching requirements, and a good working knowledge of MS Excel.
