The Role

Applications are invited for 2 x Course Tutors on the exciting TechUP initiative, which will be delivering a new TechUPWomen programme over the next 12 months. The post will include teaching, monitoring, supporting and tracking students completing the programme in general IT and IT support, this will be done through the Thinkific e-learning platform, a Slack group and live online lectures.

Applicants will be fully trained on all course content but should have a working knowledge of the subject area, the curriculum is expected to include:

  • Problem Solving
  • Critical Thinking
  • Computer Systems
  • Working in Command Line
  • Troubleshooting and Diagnostics
  • Ticketing Systems
  • Cloud Based Systems
  • Introduction to Coding
  • Introduction to Data Analysis
  • Introduction to User Design and Research
  • Applicants will be working under the guidance of Professor Sue Black and Professor Alexandra Cristea, reporting to Programme Manager, Johanna Waite.

    We have two part time roles available, 22 hours per week, to include two afternoons of teaching per week (or one afternoon and two evenings). A job share at 11 hrs per week would also be considered. Attendance at two weekend events will be required outside of normal working hours.
