The Faculty of Medical Sciences/Division of Medicine is expanding the BSc/MSci in Applied Medical

Sciences. The aim of the degree is to provide graduates with knowledge that will equip them to

pursue a career in the Medical, Pharmaceutical, University or Healthcare sectors. The course is novel

and differs from other science courses in that the main aim is to develop science graduates with a

solid insight into the clinical disciplines who can work in biochemistry, clinical trials, regenerative

medicine, pharmacology or other areas of science: http://www.ucl.ac.uk/prospectivestudents/undergraduate-study/degrees/ubsmedsapp05

The course is a blended course that makes significant use of virtual learning materials, including our

own in-house interactive tutorials, simulations and e-learning activities. Face to face teaching is also

delivered in the form of lectures, workshops, practicals and small group tutorials. The course was

started in 2014 and the number of students is growing sharply. We are recruiting new teaching staff

to meet this increasing demand.

The role holder will work with the Teaching Lead to deliver the teaching on the Applied Medical

Sciences course and continue to create innovative and effective teaching materials, taking a

principled approach to pedagogy and, where appropriate, inventing new ways to teach.

Funding is available for three years in the first instance.

have knowledge of at least one of the following areas: Molecular biology, Physiology, Integrative

experience is essential as is experience in teaching undergraduates
