Fixed term 12 months, 0.25 fractional contract

The School of Education, Humanities and Languages seeks to appoint a one-year fixed-term part-time (0.25) Teaching Fellow in Philosophy. The successful candidate will have the capacity to teach the modules Philosophy as a Way of Life, Continental Philosophy of Religion, Thinking in Dark Times, and contribute to the modules Ethics for the 21st Century and Philosophical Voices. The successful candidate will have a PhD in Philosophy and excellent teaching experience.

In addition to teaching, you will participate in recruitment activities, offer pastoral support to a diverse body of students, and have a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.

You will be given training, support, mentoring and opportunities for Professional Development.

You will be responsible for:

▪          delivering beginner to advanced undergraduate modules in Philosophy through face-to-face teaching

▪          administering undergraduate teaching.

You should have:

▪          a PhD in Philosophy or closely related discipline, or close to completion

▪          experience of teaching Philosophy at undergraduate level

▪          excellent team-working and communication skills.
