Teaching Fellow in Creative Musicianship

The Opportunity:

The Reid School of Music wishes to appoint a temporary 0.2 FTE Teaching Fellow in Creative Musicianship, starting immediately until June 2022.  

The post holder will deliver teaching across key courses in our Pre- Honours Undergraduate Curriculum; marking and examination in Music Analysis and delivery and organisation of Creative Musicianship.

The successful candidate is also expected to contribute to shared duties in relation to course administration, assessment and attendance at occasional programme and subject area-level meetings. The post is located in the Reid School of Music in the Edinburgh College of Art at the University of Edinburgh, and the post holder may be required to teach on campus as well as online.

This position is tenable from 22 November 2021.

Your Skills and Attributes for success:

  • A minimum of a PhD degree in an area relating to composition, analysis or musicology 
  • Demonstrable ability to deliver university-level teaching in music analysis and pastiche composition.  
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills;  IT skills to deliver teaching in a hybrid framework 
  • Experience of teaching in Higher Education
  • A commitment to contributing to a collegial and collaborative working environment
