The Department of History is a collaborative and dynamic department that is seeking to appoint a Teaching Coordinator to support its future development. You will be working closely with other members of the professional services team to provide a high level of service and support to both staff and students. 

The current focus for this post is on supporting our students and academic staff in delivering a dynamic and diverse curriculum and our programme of engagement activities and events.

You will work as a pivotal member of History’s Professional Services Team. You will provide support to the Head of Department, Departmental Officer, academic staff, support staff, and students in the Department. The role is varied and will include supporting the administration of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes as well as assisting the Student Programmes Officer, Departmental Officer with department-wide activity. 

You will be a self-motivated team player and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should have experience of providing excellent customer service in a busy and varied office environment as well as expertise in Microsoft Office packages. 

You will be expected to demonstrate initiative and creativity. The ability to work on your own initiative and communicate with a range of people from a variety of backgrounds is essential. This is a key role within the department and gives you the opportunity to gain experience of working in a busy department with a large number of students, degree programmes and academic staff.

You will join a small friendly team on a 0.66FTE indefinite contract with hours to be worked over 4-5 days.
