Teaching Associate positions - Tort Law

The Department of Law is looking to appoint Teaching Associates in Tort Law. The successful candidates will support, teach and facilitate the learning of students on our Undergraduate programmes.

Candidates are expected to contribute to the delivery of high-quality teaching by supplementing to an existing module through running seminars, workshops or other types of classes for students and assessing their work.

About You

You should have an undergraduate degree in Law (Common law) or equivalent postgraduate conversion degree. You should have the ability to present specialist material in a logical, coherent and interesting manner, both to students and to fellow specialists; you will also need the ability to work independently, prioritise your workload and have good IT skills. Experience of undergraduate teaching would be an advantage.

About the Department

The School of Law is one of eight schools in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. The School of Law has two organisational units: the Department of Law (DOL) and the Centre for Commercial Law Studies (CCLS). Established in 1965, the School of Law has grown from 30 students and four academic staff, to 1,939 students and 115 academic staff. The Department of Law focuses on the culture and institutions of the rule of law in creating civil society at all levels from the local to the transnational.As one of the largest law schools in the UK, it provides high quality teaching to more than 800 undergraduate students.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is a part time, fixed-term appointment, from September 2021 to April 2022. The starting salary will be £18.75 per hour, inclusive of London Allowance.
