Salary £31406 to £42149 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

The School of Life Sciences at the University of Nottingham is looking to appoint a fixed-term Teaching Associate in Human Genetics. The role holder will have a PhD (or close to completion) in genetics or a related discipline within the biological sciences. The primary purpose of the role will be to undertake undergraduate teaching as part of the Genetics, Biology and Zoology degrees.

The role holder will convene and teach third year modules in Human Variation (Autumn semester) and Common & Complex Diseases (Spring semester); they may also contribute to the second year module The Genome & Human Disease. The role holder will also provide project supervision and tutorial support to undergraduates.

Making use of pre-existing teaching materials, the role holder will be responsible for identifying the learning needs of students and ensuring that the content, methods of delivery and learning materials meet the defined learning objectives of the relevant modules. They will also have responsibility for setting and marking assessments in line with existing module specifications.
