Applications are invited for the position of Teaching Associate in the Department of Zoology, University of Cambridge. This is an exciting new position, working closely with the Deputy Head of Department (Teaching) to maintain and develop the Department's world-class reputation for excellence in teaching.

Key duties will include the preparation and delivery of lectures and practicals, practical assessment, course organisation and supervision of student projects. Fostering and providing support for digital learning approaches in Zoology will also be a key part of this role. The role holder will play a significant role in organising and participating in one or more of four popular field courses In Zoology (three domestic and one international) held each year.

Candidates will ideally have a PhD in a relevant subject area and experience in the development and delivering of teaching at University level preferably including the use of Moodle, Lecture Capture or equivalent on-line teaching resources. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral) are required to explain concepts and complex information to students, develop and encourage the commitment to learn in others and to present material to a range of audiences. The role holder will have excellent organisational skills, be able to work effectively as part of a team and play an active role in the life and work of the Zoology Department .
