It’s an exciting time to join Aston University for an individual who is passionate about student systems and keen to develop our  capabilities in this area.  

The role: 

Working as a Systems Developer you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of both established and emerging student systems, with a particular focus on the SITS student records management system.  You will:

  • Carry out business and systems analysis, procurement, programming, testing, installation activities and going “live” for new applications and providing subsequent support.
  • Work effectively as part of agile sprint teams, working with a range of senior stakeholders from across the University as well as relevant third parties
  • Build in-house solutions in e:Vision using Vistas, Process Manager, Task Manager, Standard Reports and Letters (SRL), HTML, and SQL queries. 
  • Liaise frequently and effectively with relevant sector-wide working groups and actively apply best practice within the development of student systems at Aston University.

About you:

The successful candidate will be a systems specialist who is able to convey highly technical information and concepts to a range of non-technical stakeholders. You will have a collaborative approach to working with stakeholders of all levels, creating solutions which really address user needs.  You will have experience of management information systems and of implementing developments to these systems.  In addition, you will have excellent customer service skills alongside the ability to work independently and cross-functionally to tight timescales.
