We are looking for two System Administrators to join our team within the Student Information Systems (SIS) Product Team at Oxford Brookes University. This is an exciting opportunity that involves interesting and rewarding work in collaboration with staff from across the University, supporting critical services and working to consistently deliver improvements to the systems that underpin the entire student lifecycle. 

We are looking for two colleagues to help us with monitoring and maintaining the Student Information System. This includes triaging and resolving issues and queries raised by users, monitoring exception reports, and resolving errors. 

Prior experience of working with a student records system and/or CRM platform within an HE setting would be beneficial. You will be given information, support, and resources to familiarize yourself quickly with the requirements of the role and the current configuration of the SIS, but you will be expected to take your own initiative in identifying priorities and responding to competing demands. Support will be available from colleagues within the SIS Product Team, and you will be encouraged and given freedom to identify and implement process improvements as we constantly strive to improve the implementation of our student information systems. 

These are full time, fixed term posts for 12 months.

You will be:

  • Monitoring and resolving errors in the Student Information Systems (SIS).
  • Identifying defects that might need to be escalated to the supplier of the SIS.
  • Assisting with the testing of upgrades and bug fixes to ensure the stability of the SIS.
  • Tasked with becoming an expert in the SIS to that you can advise and train users on its use.
  • Working with the rest of the SIS Product Team to oversee the smooth delivery of key University services.

You should have:

  • An ability to work closely with a small, specialist team.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to independently research solutions to issues.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience of working with databases and/or CRM platforms within an HE setting.
  • Excellent organisational, time management and prioritisation skills.
