Swimming Teacher

As a Level 2 swimming teacher you will help teach and coach people of all ages and abilities to develop swimming skills, technique and confidence in the water. Applicants will be customer focused, have a positive and problem solving attitude at all times and demonstrate an aptitude for teamwork.

The swim school runs Monday to Friday evenings between the hours of 16:00 – 20:00 as well as Saturday mornings. These positions will complete the swimming pool rota ensuring a safe and effective swimming pool operation.

You will be working to the on a successful learn to swim programme, delivering a range of lessons to children and adults.

You will plan and deliver swimming lessons in line with the scheme of work and creating lesson plans that will identify participants’ abilities and encourage them to reach their full potential.

When teaching, you will provide explanations and demonstrate swimming techniques.

Correct faults in swimming techniques and identify ways to improve performance for the individual swimmers.

Be a positive role model, creating a positive and fun environment in which to motivate and encourage children and adults to participate in swimming.

Regularly assess each participant’s ability and progress and arrange for the award of the appropriate certificates.

You have an enthusiastic and positive attitude towards swimming

You are a good communicator and have the ability to inspire confidence and motivate swimmers.

You demonstrate perseverance and patience and have the ability to encourage people and put them at ease.

You have an understanding of how to differentiate in a coaching session.

Applicants will need to demonstrate develop both teamwork and hard work in order to deliver a fantastic experience for all our students, staff and community users whilst adhering to our Health & Safety policies.
