Our leading research collaboration. The Supergen Bioenergy Hub. is working on all aspects of Bioenergy. Our team in Bath are leading the Vectors theme, and we are looking for someone to join our team in the final stages of the project.

About the role

We want someone who is keen to help us contribute to knowledge and communicate our research findings through publications. The job will entail some original research about bioenergy systems (particular aspect a flexible depending on applicant skills) but must involve assimilating and publications as well. There is the ability for flexible working, and we welcome applicants with knowledge in any area of bio systems, but particularly with knowledge in life cycle assessment and systems thinking. This position is fixed term starting ASAP with an expected end date of 31/10/2022. 

About you

You will be self-motivated and organised. Ideally you will;

  • be able to deal with short (but agreed) timescales and multiple tasks that a busy yet fulfilling role demands
  • apply your knowledge and skills to work with the team and help contribute to high quality publications
  • have a PhD in an LCA or bio system area and a relevant undergraduate degree (in either an engineering or a management discipline)
  • have a good understanding of environmental issues, decarbonisation and the concept of systems thinking

This role would suit someone wanting to further their knowledge in this area and build networks and their publication record.

About the department

You will be working within the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Centre for Sustainable and Circular Technologies. You will be working as part of a team working on the Supergen Bioenergy Hub, and alongside researchers working on other projects, such as IDRIC.
