Background

The Study Abroad Officer is responsible for the day-to-day administration for the Study Abroad Programme and acts as the course officer for the Programme.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be the main point of contact for study abroad students studying at City. They will provide advice to prospective students and our partners on admissions criteria and process applications.

The post holder is responsible for processing applications, maintaining student records, issuing transcripts for students and providing advice.

Alongside the Study Abroad Manager, the post holder will process accommodation applications, and allocate student housing. The post holder will help organise and participate in the orientation of new study abroad and exchange students.

The post holder will be responsible for maintaining our presence on social media and will organise social activities for students.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a student focused environment with excellent attention to detail. They will be familiar with the issues related to international students and in particular study abroad and exchange students and be able to deal sensitively to students from different backgrounds.

Excellent communication skills and confidence in both written and verbal communication with students and external partners are essential for this role.
