The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is looking for a talented colleague to join our team of Student Support Coordinators.  The position is part time (22 hour per week).

The Team acts as a primary source of support available within Faculties and they are a student’s first point of contact, acting as a triage point for a range of student support services available across the University.

Student Support Coordinators play an important role supporting students, working collaboratively with academic and professional services staff and contributing to the delivery of the University's Student Experience Strategy.

You will:

  • Act as a first point of contact to provide advice, guidance and support to students on the process of applying for exceptional circumstances and providing follow-up support when the outcome is received.
  • Advise and support students with highly sensitive issues and manage confidential information in accordance with data protection legislation.
  • Advise students on the University regulations and programme rules. Respond to and resolve issues students have with their programme of study, using problem solving skills and regulatory knowledge to present the best possible solution and, when appropriate, help the student to implement that solution.
  • Work as a team on the development and delivery of a Faculty induction programme for new students.
  • Liaise closely with the Associate Dean for Education and Student Experience to ensure that the Student Support Framework is working effectively.

The successful candidate will have proven experience of working with people, dealing with highly sensitive and confidential information and deliver a positive customer focused service.
