This is a Permanent, full time, 1FTE, post based primarily at Wheatley campus which could be one whole post, or be considered for a job share arrangement.

An opportunity has arisen within our Student Support Co-ordinator team in the Faculty of Technology, Design and Environment. Applications are invited for the successful candidate to join an passionate and innovative team working to support students through a confidential and non- judgemental service.

The Faculty is home to four Schools providing specialist and interdisciplinary teaching, research and knowledge transfer across a breadth of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes

spanning a wide range of disciplines including but not limited to: architecture, arts, digital media, engineering and computing.

As Student Support Coordinator you will:

  • Act as a first point of contact to provide advice, guidance and support to students on the process of applying for exceptional circumstances and providing follow-up support when the
  • outcome is received.
  • Provide advice and guidance to students on relevant systems such as our Virtual Learning Environment system
  • Advise and support students with highly sensitive issues and manage confidential information in accordance with data protection legislation
  • Support collaborative working across the University, in particular with Wellbeing and Student Central to support students needs
  • Advise students on the University regulations and programme rules
  • Work collaboratively with Student Support Coordinators across the university
  • Participate in relevant Faculty committees and working groups as appropriate including Faculty and Subject Committee meetings
  • Work proactively with the Faculty Associate Dean: Education and Student Experience, to ensure that the Student Support Framework is working effectively
  • Maintain accurate records of student interactions. Prepare ad hoc reports for evaluating the operation of the Student Support Coordinator activities in order to identify trends and student demands.

You should have:

  • An undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification or substantial relevant work experience in a post with similar, general support/advice duties
  • Demonstrable relevant experience and appropriate skills
  • Excellent organizational, communication and customer service skills
  • Demonstrable IT skills with the ability to use software packages appropriate to an office environment.
