In the Student Hub, our job is to take ownership of student queries, providing timely solutions and consistent advice, giving our students the opportunity to focus on their studies and make positive memories.
About the role
The Student Hub are seeking a passionate and motivated team supervisor who will work to support the 24/7 service offering. You will be part of a team of staff who support our students across a 24/7 timeframe with a shift pattern on a 4 days on, 4 days off rota, working a 12 hour shift from 08.00 - 20.00. There is also a further 10% shift enhancement in addition to this. This post is offered on a full-time, permanent basis, based across our Student Hub Locations in Southampton and Winchester.
You will be responsible for supervising the team in the provision of advice, information and guidance to University of Southampton students and customers on a wide array of subjects including student fees and funding, accommodation, graduation, careers, academic administration, and wellbeing.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated individual who is interested in enhancing service delivery and line management skills.
About you
The successful candidate will bring a knowledge of higher education, student support and issues effecting students from a wide range of backgrounds is desirable.
We are looking for an individual with exceptional organisational skills, with an eye for detail, able to prioritise well and manage often multiple tasks and deadlines. A successful Student Hub Supervisor will possess excellent customer service and time management skills, as well as an aptitude for learning service specific software and internal systems.
The role requires effective line management of our Student Hub Advisors including ongoing performance management, dealing with discipline, recruitment and coaching and guidance. Student Hub Supervisors play a pivotal role in implementing and enabling Southampton’s people policies and practices.
The role involves interaction with our students and the successful candidates must be good communicator, both written and verbal and confident working alongside a variety of colleagues and building relationships.
