Clare Hall is a research-based college within the University of Cambridge for graduate research students, post-doctoral researchers and senior researchers, professors and distinguished colleagues from associated laboratories and research institutions in Cambridge who are elected as Fellows. It also maintains the largest programme for visiting academics in either Oxford or Cambridge. The College hosts annual endowed events of international significance including the Tanner Lectures, the Tanner Ashby Lecture and the King Lecture. In addition to those who have matriculated at Clare Hall, former Visiting and Research Fellows also become Life Members.
We are looking for a full-time Database and Gifts Officer to support the overall objectives of a small, busy and friendly department. The Officer will take the lead in maintaining and safeguarding the integrity of the College’s alumni database (a system called Raiser’s Edge) and maximising its knowledge of prospects, alumni and friends. Experience and knowledge of the Raiser’s Edge database system and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) are an advantage but training can be provided.
The role will provide database support across a wide variety of projects associated with fundraising and alumni relations, as well as general administrative support to the development operation at Clare Hall, including gift administration and communications and events.
The post-holder will be a well-organised and pro-active individual with great attention to detail, writing ability and excellent people skills to aid in building effective relationships with members of the wider College community.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone to make the role their own and create fresh systems as part of a newly re-established office.
In return, we can offer a benefits package, including 33 days annual leave, free lunches whilst on duty and when kitchens are open, health cashback plan, life assurance, free parking, free use of the sports and swimming facilities and a contributory pension scheme.
