Summary of the role

This is an opportunity for exceptional facilitators to provide dedicated student experience support within academic subject areas in the University of Exeter.

Reporting to the Deputy Education Partner, and working closely with academic departments, the Student Experience Officer (SEO) will devise and deliver a wide range of student experience activities to improve the undergraduate and post-graduate taught student experience. In doing this they will identify opportunities for enhancement and review and evaluate provision in this area. Each SEO will use their judgement in solving problems and will work effectively and collaboratively with students and staff. The ideal candidate will become a visible and friendly presence for students and be just as willing to co-ordinate a student exhibition or manage the department social media as contributing to student induction programmes and reviewing student survey results and drafting formal action plans.
The SEO will contribute to strategic planning and evaluation, be able to identify further opportunities for continuously enhancing the student experience, and be able to review and evaluate current provision in a specific area. They also may be invited to lead on an area of student experience across the Faculty.
They may occasionally be required to work evenings and weekends during University term time in order to meet service requirement.
