The University of Roehampton is recruiting to the role of Student Engagement Coach based within the Computing Team. The Student Engagement Coach is at the heart of our work supporting our students as they work towards successfully completing their degrees. You’ll be in a strategic role, designing study plans with students and working with academic colleagues and specialist professional services teams to ensure that we put in place early interventions for ‘at-risk’ groups. 

This role is ideal for someone who will be expected to be an outstanding communicator, with a commitment to supporting every single student within their designated academic school/faculty. You will be a proactive, engaging, and confident in your approach, no issue will be too large or too small for you to get to grips with. You will be key in identifying trends, designing, and implementing interventions and working with the wider and key stakeholders to drive change with the objective of improving student attendance, retention, and progression.

Key responsibilities will include leading on academic support interventions in partnership with the wider Computing Team, and other members from professional services to enhance student success through investigation and analysis of key holistic indicators of student support and success. To develop, manage and monitor the impact of study plans with students identified as ‘at-risk’ in relation to achieving good student outcomes.

The successful candidate will have skills and experience in MS Office, and in particular high-level skills in Excel to manage complex spreadsheets and data. Able to use initiative and work independently, being a self-starter and positively influencing others through a proactive approach. An ability to contribute to ongoing service development and improvement, maintaining a clear focus on customer satisfaction and to make suggestions which contribute to the efficiency of the School.
