This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

As Student Counselling and Wellbeing Operational Manager you will ensure the smooth running of all service activities, encompassing responsibility and influence over a broad range of areas. You will ensure robust systems are in place to manage high volume work flows relating to enquiries, student registrations, appointment booking, groups and workshops, waiting list management and associated prioritisation and triage/escalation processes. Your five person administration team will provide professional reception services across two sites, in addition to general administration support for our Counsellor, Mental Health Advisor and Wellbeing Practitioner teams. You will have a rigorous regard for student experience, risk management and confidentiality and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal sensitively and diplomatically with a range of students and stakeholders, including those who may be concerned or distressed. 

You will provide professional support to the Assistant Head of Student Support (Head of Counselling and Wellbeing) and service management team, ensuring that internal processes relating to, for example, strategic planning, GDPR, Health and Safety, financial monitoring and human resources are carried out successfully. You will have strong reasoning and analytical skills, demonstrated through education to degree level or through equivalent professional and managerial experience. Administrative experience in an educational, healthcare, or similar setting is essential, along with strong leadership skills and the ability to effect and manage change. You should also have extensive IT skills and an excellent attention to detail.
