Are you passionate about copywriting? Do you find yourself full of inspiration for creative communications and campaigns? Would you relish the opportunity to help keep current students informed throughout their University life through compelling brand storytelling?

We are looking for an individual with a passion for marketing and communications to join our Student Communications team.

Reporting to the Student Communications Manager, you will help create and deliver effective communications campaigns aimed at current students to help achieve the University’s engagement targets.  Your role within the Student Communications team will be to write and edit compelling copy for email, print, social and our student app, MyLTU. To do this, you will work with stakeholders across the University and work with the Student Communications Manager to ensure that the Student Communications plan is updated and actioned upon.

You'll also have the exciting opportunity to play a part in organising and promoting various student events. From our annual Summer Ball to the Deans’ Awards ceremonies, and even smaller gatherings at external venues across Leeds, you'll help bring these experiences to life. Collaborating closely with the Student Communications Manager and other stakeholders, you'll ensure that these events are well-attended and remembered long after they're over, contributing to the vibrant student life at our university.

This role is suited to someone with a passion for communications and campaigns, with excellent communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent copywriter, with experience of developing and delivering communications campaigns. You’ll be highly creative, with the initiative and drive to continually generate and implement fresh ideas and campaigns, and a desire to create unforgettable student experiences. A knowledge of Canva would also be beneficial but is not essential.

The expected start date for this position is the 1st August 2024. Initially, you will be based at Horsforth Campus, but it is expected you will relocate to the Leeds City Campus in Academic Year 2024/25.
