Are you interested in multilingual customer service and communication? We are looking for an

STUDENT COORDINATOR

to work with university students in an international environment.

As student coordinator, you will support the degree programmes and students of the Faculty of Social Sciences (Master’s Programme in Global Politics and Communication, Master’s Programme in European and Nordic Studies, Master’s Programme in Contemporary Societies, International Master’s Programme in Economy State and Society as well as the bachelor’s and master’s programmes in politics, media and communication) to meet their special needs. Your duties will include processing student applications and completing various tasks related to student graduation and the preparation of degree diplomas and student certificates. You will also complete various information and communication duties and further develop work processes related to the Sisu student information system. You will participate in the collaborative development projects of the University of Helsinki’s Teaching and Learning Services sector, serve as a contact person between University-level services and on-site services, and see to the adoption of shared practices by your team.

A total of 18 specialists work in the Teaching and Learning Services team supporting the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Swedish School of Social Science in Kruununhaka. This is a cover position for parental leave for a fixed term from 4 August 2022 to 7 April 2023.

About you

You are interested in collaborating and interacting with university students in an international environment. Your strengths include multilingual customer service and communication as well as the ability to use information systems effectively. Active, independent and proactive information-seeking comes naturally to you. You have good organisational skills and are able to learn new things quickly, engage with large and complex issues, and work effectively under pressure.

An applicable higher education degree as well as knowledge of university education and academic administration provide a good basis for working in this position. The appointee also needs fluent Finnish and English skills and good Swedish skills.
