The Role and duties

We are seeking a new part-time Strength and Conditioning Assistant at our Colchester campus. The successful candidate will assist the Strength and Conditioning Head Coach in delivering quality S&C sessions to groups and individuals.

The post holder will work closely with all Essex Sport staff and both internal and external partners to provide a transformational educational experience to students within the University’s performance sport programme.

Your duties will include;

  • Attend termly athlete review meetings
  • Identify strengths and weaknesses within the sport programme
  • Assist the Strength and Conditioning Performance Coach to deliver quality S&C sessions to groups and individuals.
  • Play an active role in developing squad players
  • Assess player skills, monitor play during competition and practice

Qualifications and skills required

In order to be successful, you will have a degree level qualification in Sports Coaching /Science or equivalent, as well as other relevant experience gained within a Strength and Conditioning setting.  Importantly, the position requires enthusiasm and flexibility, ability to work independently and under pressure and a commitment to continuous professional development.
