The STEM Response Team from the Faculty of Science and Engineering at the University of Wolverhampton are looking for people to join their nationally renowned public engagement and STEM outreach group. The role would be perfect for those interested in science communication, teaching a STEM subject, the performing arts, creative marketing, social media and working with the local community to raise aspirations an promote careers in STEM subject areas. You will work with the team to develop skills in public engagement, communication and networking, event and project management and performance and delivery skills in science communication, as well a wide variety of other skills needed by someone working in a busy STEM outreach programme in any large organisation. You will be given the creative space to design and deliver STEM engagement interventions using your expertise and contribute to the portfolio of activity that the STEM Response Team provides nationally to schools and communities.
This permanent but part time (4 days a week) position would best suit individuals who are highly passionate about their subject and who want to make a difference to other people’s lives. You must be a graduate from a STEM subject area who has finished their studies, be entitled to work full-time hours and be available at weekends if necessary. Importantly, you must be highly flexible, resilient, adaptable and creative to be a success in this fast-paced, very physically demanding and above all exciting role.
