Job Description
The semiconductor process engineer is responsible for wafer-scale device fabrication process development and process optimisation using the Nano OPS technology platform. Your experience in the CMOS manufacturing environment will guide the development and optimisation of the directed assembly-based printing process. This job offers the opportunity to work with many researchers and companies implementing new manufacturing technlogy to advance state of the art. This is a unique opportunity to innovate and make a meaningful contribution to the science of bottoms up manufacturing.
Position Responsibilities
- Perform process engineering research, development, characterisation, and evaluation in support of the SHINE nanoscale directed assembly platform and systems
- Improve existing processes and enhance process capbility, process control, productivity, and efficiency
- Develop process recipes for the repeatable fabrication of circuit elements using directed assembly technique and post-annealing
- Compile, characterise, and analyses test data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process or material specifications, summarises findings, and presents conclusions, and develop action plans to extend process capabilities
- Provide application development support to researchers and partner companies in the implementation of their processes and applications
Position Requirements
- MS or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry or Solid-State Physics or equivalent
- Minimum of three years as a process development engineer in a semiconductor R&D environment
- Experience in usnig process equipment used in semiconductor manufacturing, including photolithography, thin-film deposition, e-beam metal evaportaion, rapid thermal annealing, and associated analytical processes
- Detailed understanding of standard semiconductor circuit elements, such as transistors, capacitors, resistors, inductors, memory cells, diodes, etc
- Experience with III-V and II-VI semiconductor interconnects, and RF devices is preferred
- Familiarity with process and device simulators, such as SUPREM, MEDICI, and Sentaurus is desirable
- Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and/or design of experiments (DOE), and structured problem-solving methods, such as 8D, 5 whys, and DMAIC
- Good writing and speaking skills with ability to communicate complex technical issues
- Ability to lead/work both in a team, and autonomously
