Staff Bioinformatician

We are looking for an experienced and well-motivated bioinformatician, interested in bringing their computational expertise to cutting edge, biomedical sequencing projects.

The Opportunity:

This is an opportunity to play critical roles in a variety of collaborative sequencing efforts from large cancer cohort projects, to studies of developmental disorders and UK population cohorts. You will join an experienced and well-resourced group within an extended community of computational biologists at IGC, and work with multidisciplinary teams involving clinicians and experimentalists. The position is for 1.5 years initially, with likely extension beyond this point.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • PhD in Biology, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Computer Science or a closely related discipline.
  • Research experience in computational biology, particularly projects generating novel insights into human or medical genomics.
  • Published experience in the analysis of high throughput biological datasets.
  • Programming experience in Linux/UNIX environments.
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills.
