About this role

Please only apply if you are a current UWE Bristol undergraduate or postgraduate student enrolled onto a programme in the School of Social Science. This includes students who are enrolled on the following programmes; Criminology, Philosophy, Policing, Politics and International Relations, Psychology or Sociology.

This is a fantastic opportunity for two current UWE Bristol students to get real-world, hands-on experience of organising an academic conference. The SSOS Student Conference provides an opportunity for undergraduate and postgraduate SSOS students to present their research projects, dissertations, group work, and any other relevant work undertaken during their degree. You will liaise with the SSOS Student Conference Organising Committee to ensure the event is run smoothly. 

This position is scheduled to start in April 2024 and will last for 8 weeks.

About you

  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to self-motivate and take initiative, especially in new subject areas.
  • High attention to detail and writing, editing and proofreading skills.

    This is a fixed term post until 10th June and is part-time working on a 0.4 FTE contract.

    This post is not available on a job share basis.
